At the 2024 DECA state competition, 11 students from Downers Grove South High School placed in the top ten at the DECA state sectional competition!

DGS Students Sophia Lodhi and Rylee Monroe were the State Champions in the "Project Management Business Solutions" category.
The Illinois Foundation for Marketing Education named South High Teacher and DECA Sponsor Paul Krick "Marketing Educator of the Year."
Other top finishers included Brianna Monroy, Seema Raiper and Mara Haiduc, receiving 3rd Place in the category "Business Services Operations Research
Nahla Mokkath received 4th Place in "Professional Selling."

- Nick O’Halloran, Innovation Plan (Nick also received a $1,000 scholarship from the Illinois Foundation for Marketing Education)
