Several Downers Grove South students who took the 2023 National Spanish Examination this Spring were recognized for their performance.
Students from South High School earned three gold medals, two silver medals, and three bronze medals.
“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Lisa Greenman, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 85,000 students participating in 2023.”
Students from South High School have a history of high achievement on these exams and were taught by Spanish teachers Robert Topor, Diana Boukal, Cyndi Montero, Tara Basar, and Joyce McElroy.
