Have you ever thought about being a chef, interior designer, fashion designer or an early childhood teacher??? Then FCCLA is the club for you! Come see us in Room B123 ( the foods room) Tuesday after school at 3:30 for a quick informational meeting. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Farren or Ms. Parpet.

During homecoming week this fall, DGS will become the most magical place on Earth! Contribute your talents by auditioning for the 2016 Homecoming Variety Show! We’re looking for unique acts in singing, dancing, music and more! Get creative and attend our informational meeting on Tuesday, September 6th in the Auditorium to learn about the audition process. See Ms. Rowley or Ms. Benoist in the counseling department with questions.

Interested in being a part of DGS Drama? Drama Club and Masque and Gavel will hold it’s first meeting of the year in the Little Theater today after school at 3:30 pm. Come to find out about our season of shows, auditions, workshops and field trips. Questions? See Ms. Rubin, Mr. Haywood, or Mr. Matkovich.

The first Math Team practice of the year will be on Tuesday, September 6th at 3:30 in Room C363. If you cannot attend let your math teacher or Mrs. K. Painter know that you are interested.

Earth Action Club will meet the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays after school this year. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 6th after school in C260. The Solarbration is right around the corner, and we need your energy to make it a success. See Ms. Quain in C260 with any questions. That’s Tuesday, September 6th after school in C260.

Attention Freshmen! Do you want to be the very best, like no one ever was? Then try out for the 2016 Freshmen Play: “Fresmon Go!” on Wednesday, September 7th at 3:30 in the Little Theater. No experience is required. Audition materials will be provided. If you are an upperclassman interested in student directing, just show up and help catch em all!

Attention students interested in science and engineering: you have an opportunity to build your own USB solar panel charger! Please come to an informative meeting happening Wednesday, September 7th in C256. Contact Mr. Zownorega with any questions.

Did you know that:  Every time you donate blood you can save 3 lives? There will be a school-wide blood drive TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th in the small gym. You can donate if you are 16 or older. Sign up during lunch periods this Thursday and Friday.

DECA, the business and marketing club, is beginning for the 2016-2017 school year. We will have our first meeting on Thursday, September 8th at 7:30 in Room B327. Please come to find out about all the exciting events the officers have planned for you. New members are always welcomed. See you Thursday morning at 7:30 in B327.

Sky’s the Limit is an interactive day camp designed to expose high school aged girls to the world of Aviation. You’ll get to fly a simulator, tour a Boeing 737, learn about aerodynamics, maintenance and the air traffic control system, AND you’l get to meet professional women in a variety of positions within the industry. Lunch is included. The best part this event is FREE! It is on: Saturday, September 24th, 2016 from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm. Check your email in Naviance for further details.

If you have a free study hall or resource period and are interested in being a student aide for the dean's office, please pick up application in the dean’s office A104.  Applications will be given to the deans for final approval.

On Tuesday, September 6th, A representative from University of Illinois @ Urbana, U.S. Navy, & Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis will be here. If you are interested in attending this presentation, you need to sign up on the Naviance program.
