DGS Student Selected for Prestigious All-American Marching Band

South High Principal Ed Schwartz, District 99 Superintendent Dr. Hank Thiele, Noah Tunney and District 99 Board of Education Member Mike Davenport celebrate Noah's selection to the All-American Marching Band

For the fourth year in five years, a Downers Grove South High student has been selected to be a member of the prestigious U.S. Army All-American Marching Band. Noah Tunney, a sousaphone player, will represent our community during the All-American Bowl Week in San Antonio, Texas and the nationally televised “East vs. West” High School football game in January 2017.

Only 125 students nationwide are selected from the more than 1,300 who audition for the band.

Tunney was honored with a special "tour stop" at the school on October 3. Downers Grove Mayor Tully proclaimed October 3, 2016 as "Noah Tunney Day!"
