Katie Stapleton, a senior at Downers Grove South High School, was recognized as a school winner by the Wendy's High School Heisman competition. She was among more than 600,000 students recognized by her teachers and friends for her commitment to excellence.
"There are some students who set the bar. They work harder, show more passion and lead by example--in the classroom, on the field and within the community," states the announcement from Wendy's High School Heisman recognizing Stapleton.
"This award is given for excellence in academics, athletics as well as community service and always appearing with a respectful attitude," says Principal Ed Schwartz. "Congratulations, Katie!"
