WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2016

TODAY MARKS THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 1941 ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR, HAWAII WHICH LED TO AMERICA’S ENTRY INTO THE SECOND WORLD WAR.  AS WE RECITE THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND OBSERVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE, PLEASE CONSIDER THE SACRIFICE MADE BY THAT GENERATION.  WE SHOULD BE FOREVER GRATEFUL.

 

ACTIVITIES

Attention All ACE Members: Our next large gourp meeting will be tomorrow beginning at 7:30am in the Auditorium. Leadership Day recap, Spirit Week, and ACE Olympics are on the agenda.  See you there!

DECA, the business and marketing club,  will have our next meeting on Thursday, December 8 at 7:30 in room B327.  All members need to attend to go over Sectional sign ups.  See you Thursday morning at 7:30 in B327.

Jostens will be on campus tomorrow, Thursday, December 8th during lunch periods in the cafeteria, for ring service day.  All students and staff are invited to have their Jostens ring inspected, polished, resized and stone replaced if needed, at no charge.  New ring orders may be placed with a $50.00 down payment.  You may design your ring at Jostens.com.

The DGS Snowball program is seeking new leaders for our March 2017 Winter Snowball!  If you are a junior or senior and have attended at least one Snowball event, please consider applying to become part of our Snowball leadership team!  Applications are available now on the Snowball website. Pick up a flier in the Student Activities office or see Ms. Benoist in A109 for more information. The application deadline is 12/16.

Attention Adventure Club:  our holiday party is TODAY so stop by D170 and pay Mrs. Robinson your $5

Attention Spanish Club:  Please join us for our holiday celebration on Wednesday, December 14th in D277 at 3:30.   We hope to see you then. 

Heat the Homeless will be collecting new and used winter articles till December 9th for the homeless that live in DuPage County. Please donate all of your hats, gloves, scarves, and socks in one of the boxes located outside of the West Events entrance, library, and cafeteria. Thank you so much for all your help, it is very much appreciated! See Mr. Krick or DECA student members if you have any questions.

 

SPORTS

Congratulation to the girls bowling team on their win vs Willowbrook. The varsity team won by 237 pins led by sophomore Alex Ward high game 202.  The JV team beat Willowbrook by 74 pins…

 

COLLEGE AND CAREER

On January 5, 2017 a representative from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln along with Alumni from DGS will be here.
