ACTIVITIES

Attention French Club:  Meeting today after school in A207 to prepare for the Halloween Fun Fair.  We will also be snacking on madeleine cookies, fruit and fondue.  The meeting will end before the 4:30 activity bus.  All are welcome!

Attention all FCCLA members, there will be a mandatory meeting in B123 after school to discuss competitions, fundraising, Halloween fair and to begin videotaping for our Teen Driving video.  Please be there at 3:30. If you cannot make it please let Mrs. Farren or Ms. Parpet know.

Attention Adventure Club: if you plan on going this Thursday to our Haunted house outing please drop off your parent permission forms along with the cost of entrance.

DECA, the business and marketing club, will have our next meeting on Thursday, October 20th at 7:35 in room B327.  New members are always welcomed.

October is Energy Awareness Month.  Did you know that despite all the technology surrounding renewable energy, it’s not a new invention? In 200 BC, people in China would use windmills to pump water and grind grain, and Romans were the first to use geothermal energy to heat houses.  If you care about energy and climate, come to the Earth Action Club meeting after school today in C260. See Ms. Quain with questions.

Hey South! Want to escape the stresses of the everyday? Make new friends? Have a great time? Registration for Snowball is now open! You can register on either the Snowball or Student Activities websites, but hurry - Registration ends October 31st!

Do you like field trips? Are you interested in experiencing how government really works? For the first time ever DGS students have the opportunity to travel with North students to Washington DC. You will explore and experience our nation’s capital, discuss issues with students from all over the country, and meet members of Congress. For more information, see Dr. Esposito in the Social Studies office (D272). Initial sign-up forms are due on 10/21 so don’t delay.
