ACTIVITIES

This is National Drug & Alcohol Facts week, and we are working to shatter the myths about teen drug and alcohol use. With the legalization of marijuana for medical use in Illinois, teens might assume that recreational use is harmless. However, there is increasing evidence that marijuana use, especially by young people, changes the brain. There are unanswered questions about the short and long-term impact of those changes. We do know that teens who smoke regularly are at greater risk for addiction, are less likely to be successful in school, and are more likely to experiment with other drugs. Check your email today for a link to a three-question quiz about teen marijuana use. If you complete the quiz, your name will be entered in a drawing for a $10 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card.
