ACTIVITIES

 

Ultimate Frisbee open practices will start this upcoming Monday after school from 3:30 to 5:00 at Powers Park.  Everybody wanting to play Ultimate Frisbee is invited.  No experience necessary.  Contact Mr. Sobczak for more information.

If you are interested in building and designing, then stage crew is for you.  Please attend an informational meeting Today at 3:30 pm in the Auditorium.  Please contact Mr. Evans if you are unable to attend

Anime Club will have its first meeting of the year after school Today in room A220. “

Hey Mustangs! Are you aware? Mustangs Aware will be meeting this Tuesday, September 20th in room D171 at 7:30 to discuss a wide variety of events coming our way.  If you are interested in getting involved and helping others while having fun, then join us and bring a friend. Let’s GO DGS show you care become AWARE!

If you have an interest in horses, then Equestrian Club is for you! No riding experience is necessary. Join us this Saturday for a behind-the-scenes- trip to Arlington Race Track.   To sign up for and get more information about this trip and future events, stop in C168 after school Today or Tomorrow, Sept. 16th.  Come have some snacks and meet others who love horses.   

All those interested in taking part in the Google Innovative incubator/Solar Panel Project, come to another brainstorming session this Today @ 3:30 in C258.  We will be “ideating” new goals and planning for our USB solar chargers.  See Mr. Zownorega in C258 if you have any questions.

It’s not too late to join the speech team. If you like acting, public speaking and debate, then speech is perfect for you!  Come to the Novice workshop this Saturday at 9 a.m. in the DGS auditorium.  Watch varsity members and state finalists perform all 14 events.  Breakfast will be provided.  All you have to do is show up and enjoy!

Have you seen those new solar panels above the cafeteria entrance?  Earth Action Club did that!  The Energy Slam we put on in April 2015 inspired a group of students to join us in our goal of bringing solar panels to DGS.  We are solar-brating this Friday.  Enjoy a sweet Sunkist treat on Friday morning.  During lunch on Friday, we will be selling DGS Goes Solar sunglasses while we bask in some sunny tunes.  Sunglasses are $5.  Support Earth Action Club and look very cool.  Wear them to our next meeting on Tuesday Sept. 20th after school in C260.  Everyone is welcome.  If you are interested in alternative energy and climate issues, this is the club for you.  See Ms. Quain in C260 with questions. 

Calling all Super Fans, our first “pack the place” is this TODAY!  Come see a double-header of Mustang Action, starting with the Girls Tennis at 4:30 followed by Boys Soccer at 6:30.  This will be your first opportunity to buy your SperFans Shirt, which will be featured as part of our neon night at the Football game this Friday!

Come to the first Key Club meeting this TODAY @ 3:30 in C264.  Key Club is the world’s largest high school community service organization, and is widely recognized by colleges and universities.  Have fun, make friends, get involved, and make a difference.

 

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT

Any girls’ basketball player not in a fall sport should attend a mandatory meeting regarding pre-season workouts on TODAY at 3:30 in Room C164.  See Coach Long if you cannot attend.

On Monday September 19th a representative from Grand Valley State University, Indiana University and Johnson & Wales University will be here.
