ACTIVITIES

October is Energy Awareness month. Earth Action Club loves to solarbrate this month. Our 4 new solar panels produce about 2.4 kilowatt-hours per day.   An average home in Downers Grove uses about 50 kilowatt-hour of electrical energy per day.  Ask an Earth Action Club member or your science teacher what a kilowatt-hour is and how you can save one!

Are you looking for an additional opportunity to perform? Are you super creative and have a great imagination? Do you have a competitive drive? If you think you might, go visit Mr. Blum in the library any day this week for more information on the "new" Group Interp.  Auditions will be held next week on Wednesday Oct. 12th at 4:30pm in C164. Do you have conflicts or can’t make the audition- Again, go visit Mr. Blum in the library he holds all the answers!

This week Spanish Club would like to honor Sonia Sotomayor in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month. Sonia Sotomayor is the first Latina Supreme Court Justice in the US. She graduated from Princeton and went on to Yale to receive her doctorate of law. In 1991 Sotomayor was nominated by George HW Bush to serve in the US District Court of Southern New York and then the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In 2009 she was nominated by President Barack Obama to the Supreme Court, and became the court’s first justice of Hispanic heritage.
