Superfans! Our next pack the place is this Monday! Our D99 Special Olympic basketball team will be playing here at South, with the first game tipping off 5:45. We will be doing a blackout to represent the colors of our awesome hoops squad. Hope to see everyone on Monday night!”
Congratulations to the following Mustang musicians who have been selected, through competitive audition, to participate in the 2017 All-State music ensembles: WINDS AND PERCUSSION: Allie Brandt (11) Bb Clarinet (Orchestra), Danny King (11) Bb Clarinet, Kristina Mucha (12) Bb Clarinet, Susan Zhou (12) Bb Clarinet. CHORUS: Matt Burrows (11) - Bass II (All-State Choir), Vanessa Copeland (12) - Alto II (All-State Choir), Sean McCarthy (12) - Tenor I (Honors Choir), Lydia Walsh-Rock (12) - Soprano I (Honors Choir). ORCHESTRA STRINGS: Nicolette Cheaure (11) Viola. JAZZ BAND: Brianna Imgruet (12) Trumpet, Adam Zlotnicki (12) Trumpet. Attention all current National Honor Society seniors: We have our next mandatory meeting on Monday, December 12th. Please attend either before school at 7:30 or after school at 3:30 in the Little Theater. Bring money for t-shirts and see you all there!” Note: If you just got accepted into NHS last month, this meeting is NOT for you.
Jostens will be here TODAY during lunch, in the cafeteria, for ring service day. All students and staff are invited to have their Jostens ring inspected, polished, resized and stone replaced if needed, at no charge. New ring orders may be placed with a $50.00 down payment. You may design your ring at Jostens.com.
The DGS Snowball program is seeking new leaders for our March 2017 Winter Snowball! If you are a junior or senior and have attended at least one Snowball event, please consider applying to become part of our Snowball leadership team! Applications are available now on the Snowball website. Pick up a flier in the Student Activities office or see Ms. Benoist in A109 for more information. The application deadline is 12/16.
Heat the Homeless will be collecting new and used winter articles from December 5th to December 9th for the homeless that live in DuPage County. Please donate all of your hats, gloves, scarves, and socks in one of the boxes located outside of the West Events entrance, library, and cafeteria.
