ACTIVITIES

Hey Seniors, interested in planning and fundraising for your prom?  Senior Class board meets this Friday at 7:30 in A115. New members will only be accepted till October 7th. Contact Mrs. Franz or Mrs. Carpenter for more information.

Superfans, tonight is our next pack the place event! Come out and support the Powderpuff Ladies starting at 6:30! Our theme is class colors to match your team on the field! So freshman wear green, sophomores wear pink, juniors wear navy blue, and seniors wear baby blue! Hope to see everyone out there, and may the best class win!”

Do you need help with your writing? Are you frustrated with an assignment? Come to the Literacy Center where our friendly tutors can assist you!  The Literacy Center is open every day before school, during lunch periods, and after school (except Fridays)

Students don’t forget, tomorrow is Monster University College shirt Day.

Politics Club/Model UN will meet Wednesday morning, September 28 at 7:20 in C265.  If you ordered a t-shirt, please bring the money to the meeting or to Mrs. Culcasi in the Social Studies office.  Didn't get a chance to order a shirt? Go to the website and place your order now!

HOMECOMING SHOW Get your tickets (only $5.00) for this year’s show on Thursday, September 29th at 7 p.m. IN THE AUDITORIUM. GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY in student activities or the night of the show. Seniors, bring your entourage for our first ever lip sync battle LIVE! Check out Clear Confusion, On Kore, Angelique Bednara and many more acts. Let’s pack the place!

Do you like to write, take photos, review entertainment events, draw, design on computer software, or edit videos?   Then you should get involved in DGS' school newspaper The Blueprint.  Our first meeting will be help before school on Wednesday the 28th at 7:30 AM in room A310.  Come meet the Blueprint staff and find out ways to get involved.    

Any Juniors and Seniors interested in applying to be leaders for Snowball this fall, applications are out now! Applications are due on Monday, September 26th so there is still time to become a part of this great leadership experience!”

Voter Registration for DGS students and staff will take place on Wednesday, September 28th in the Cafetorium during all lunch periods.  Students that are 17 years old can vote in the General Election on November 16, 2016 as long as they will be 18 years old by November 8, 2016.  Anyone registering must be a US citizen and provide two forms of identification (student ID, Illinois driver’s license, or a passport) with one having your current address.

Attention Seniors: Jostens will be in the cafetorium on Tuesday, September 27th for cap and gown and graduation orders during lunch periods, in the cafeteria. Extra information packets are available in the student activities office.

Also, on this day students may come see Jostens for class ring measurements and orders. Please remember your order form and $50 down payment. You may design your ring and print your order form at www.jostens.com

Love art? Then come have fun and join Art Club. Love photography? Then come join Photo Club. Or why not join both clubs!   We will meet tomorrow Sept. 27th @ 3:30 in C160 to prepare for Homecoming. After that Art Club and Photo Club will alternate on Tuesdays.

Come join Game Club.  The first meeting is today @ 3:30 in C160.  Bring your own games on flash drives and other devises.  Have fun playing computer games with your friends.  We will continue to meet on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30.

ATHLETICS

The women’s swim and dive continued their dominance over Hinsdale South, the varsity won 129 to 56 while the Frosh/Soph won 115 to 40.  Great job ladies.

Congratulations to the boys’ soccer team on their 3-0 victory over Hinsdale South Thursday night.  Great team defense and goals by Garrett Burns, Nick Rohl and Tommy Wielgolsz were more than enough as to keep the Southern Bell at DGS for another year!  Way to go Mustangs.

The JV girls tennis team crushed Proviso Thursday night 7-0. Doubles players Rachel Renaud, Marie Smazil, Renee Renaud, and Aubrey Vernon won in straight sets. Sam Perkins, Nicole Fanella, Mimmi Despotovic, and Reese Rhoads only gave up one game each while Katie Dobson and Tori Barczak clinched the team win at fourth doubles

COLLEGE AND CAREER

On Tuesday, September 26th a representative from University of Pittsburgh, Miami University-Oxford, Ohio and Northern Michigan University will be here.

On Wednesday, September 28th a representative from Bradley University, Marian University & Syracuse University will be here.

On Thursday, September 29th a representative from University of Iowa, Aurora University & University of Arizona will be here.
