ACTIVITIES

Wednesday, September 28th is this year’s Homecoming Olympics!  Create a team with your friends and compete for eternal glory and a $100 gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings.  Don’t forget, a $40 down payment is required upon registration, due Friday the 23rd.  Your team will get a full refund when you show up for the games.  See you there.

Attention Adventure Club- there will be a meeting this Wednesday September 21st after school in our usual spot (Room D178).  See you there.

We are seeking student volunteers to partner with the DuPage County Health Department and the Illinois Department of Public Health as part of the Reality Illinois /Teen Advisory Panel to the DuPage County Health Department.  We are committed to wellness, positive youth development and preventing alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. The student leaders will meet monthly (on the first Monday of each month) to advocate for a healthier world. Students will gain information and tools to strengthen their leadership skills, advocate for healthy lifestyle behaviors in our community, as they enhance their resume. After a presentation by Reality students the Glen Ellyn Park District passed an ordinance to make all parks in Glen Ellyn smoke free.

The first meeting of the 2016-17 school year will take place from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. TODAY at the Glenbard District 87 Administrative Center, 596 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn (just west of Glenbard West).  Join us for our first meeting. Attention Seniors: Jostens will be in the cafetorium on Tuesday, September 20th for cap and gown and graduation orders during lunch periods, in the cafeteria. Extra information packets are available in the student activities office.

Also, on this day students may come see Jostens for class ring measurements and orders. Please remember your order form and $50 down payment. You may design your ring and print your order form at www.jostens.com.

Hey Mustangs! Are you aware? Mustangs Aware will be meeting this Tomorrow in room D171 at 7:30 to discuss a wide variety of events coming our way.  If you are interested in getting involved and helping others while having fun, then join us and bring a friend. Let’s GO DGS show you care become AWARE!

Come join Game Club.  The first meeting will be September 26th @ 3:30 in C160.  Bring your own games on flash drives and other devises.  Have fun playing computer games with your friends.  We will continue to meet on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30.

"Let us take your selfie" Yearbook Club's first meeting is this week Wednesday after school, from 3:30-4:30, in C156. All are welcome.

Love art? Then come have fun and join Art Club. Love photography? Then come join Photo Club. Or why not join both clubs!  We will meet tomorrow and again on Sept. and the 27th @ 3:30 in C160 to prepare for Homecoming. After that Art Club and Photo Club will alternate on Tuesdays.

Do you like to read?  Do you enjoy having conversations about books?  If so, Mustang Book Club is looking for you.  Come join Mustang Book Club for our first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 20th at 3:30 in the library.

If you are interested in climate issues,  Earth Action Club is the club for you.  We need your energy to make DGS greener!  We meet on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays after school in C260.  Our next meeting is Tuesday 9/20. Everyone is welcome.  Our DGS Goes Solar sunglasses are still available from the Science Office, C257 for $5.  See Ms. Quain with questions. 

To all new and returning students, DGS K-Pop will be having its first meeting of the year on Wednesday September 21st from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Room C356.  If you’re interested in hearing your favorite Korean music with out club and just hanging out while doing so, come by our room and check it out. There’s sure to be someone who likes the same artist as you.

The DuPage County Election Commission is providing the opportunity for juniors and seniors to serve as Judges of Elections for the General Election.  In order to serve as an Election Judge a student must be a U.S. citizen with a GPA of 3.0 and complete and mandatory training class by October 22nd.  Applications are available in the Social Studies office (D272).  Completed applications need to be submitted to the Social Studies Office by Thursday, September 22nd.

Attention all current National Honor Society members:  We have our first mandatory meeting tomorrow, Tuesday September 20th.   Please attend either before school at 7:30 in the Little Theater or after school at 3:30 in the Faculty Café.  See you all there!

A representative from North Central College, Truman State University & Western Michigan University will be here Thursday September 22nd
