ACTIVITIES

In recognition of Black History Month, we present a page in Black History.

On this date, February 13, 1923- The first black professional basketball team, “The Renaissance, was organized.”

Card club for Monday, February 13, 2017 is cancelled. Our next schedule meeting is Monday, February 27, 2017.

Attention all Freshmen:

Course Selection for the 2017-2018 school year is now taking place. You should have received your appointment cards. If you did not, please comet to the Counseling Office Room. A110 or A109 for a replacement card. It is important for you to keep your appointment time.

“There will be a brief meeting for anyone interested in joining the Water Polo club this spring. Girls and Boys are both welcome. The Meeting will be at 3:30pm on Thursday February 16th on deck in the pool. If you cannot attend or just need more information, see Mr. Kuchta anytime in the pool.”

Attention Plungers & any interested plungers: There is a meeting after school today in the cafeteria to talk about the plunge day festivities. Join us in the cafeteria at 3:00PM to learn about all the fun details. Looking Forward to a fantastic event! 

The Downers Grove American Legion Post #80 is seeking participants for their American Legion Auxiliary Illini Girls State Leadership program. The camp will be held at Eastern Illinois University from June 18- 26. The program offers hands-on experiences in the operation and fundamentals of government. Camp registration fees for participants are paid by the sponsoring American Legion post. Registration is open to those students who will be entering their senior year in August 2017. If you are interested, please stop by the Social Studies office (D272) to pick up an application.

Summer School Drivers Ed Registration has begun.  Students must be 15 by June 14, 2017.  Applications are available in the counseling office, Room A110. Talk to your counselor for more information.

Mustangs, we need YOU to Plunge! Be bold & dare the cold! Let’s do this together for Special O! Be sure to stop by C149 today to pick up your forms! Check out the student activities page to register on-line.

Buy your yearbook now! February 16th is the last day to pre-order your yearbook and guarantee that you will have a book to pick up on distribution day in May. Yearbooks can be purchased in the bookstore or online at Jostens.com for $45.

Get your act together!  Can you sing, dance, tell stories, and teach about your culture? Would you like to read a poem, explain a tradition, etc.?  Then we would love to have you!  Cultures in Alliance (CIA) will have open auditions on Monday February 27th in the Little Theatre at 3:30 pm. Our annual talent show will take place on Friday March 17th.  If you have any questions, please stop by A110 and see Mr. Vetri. 

Are you ready to dodge, dip, dive, duck and dodge?  Get a team of 5 players together for our annual Dodgeball Tournament!  The tournament will take place on Thursday, February 16th!  Signup in the Student Activities office by February 14th.

Adventure Club: parent permission forms are available for Whirly ball.  Stop by and pick them up in D170.

Spanish Club: Come join us for our Valentine's Day Celebration and treats on Tuesday, February 14th in D277 at 3:30. Hope to see you there!

The Dean’s Office is still in need of office aides for Periods 1, 4B, 7, and 8.  If you are interested, please stop by the Dean’s Office, Room A104 to pick up a request form.

The Attendance Office is looking for student aides for 1st, 2nd, & 7th periods.  If you are interested, please stop by the Attendance Office, Room A103 to pick up a request form.

ATHLETICS

First day of Boys gymnastics is Monday, February 13 after school in the gymnastic balcony. No experience is needed, please register on 8 to 18.

There will be an open gym for Boys Volleyball on Wednesday February, 15 from 7:00PM to 8:30PM.
