Homebound Hospitalization
When students are homebound or hospitalized (for physical reasons or mental health reasons) for 10 or more days, we recognize that it can be challenging to catch up at school. To offer additional support with this process, Mrs. Toth works directly with these families, after receiving the proper documentation and approval from the school nurse, Gloria Barrera. You can contact Ms. Barrera directly by clicking on this link.
When supporting students during this process, Mrs. Toth gathers school work on one common document that is expected to be completed by the student. Ms. Toth then works with the counselor, student, and family to determine what levels of support the student may need to be successful during this process. Supports can range from being placed in an intervention area of the building as way to assist with make-up work, having an assigned 1:1 tutor, or utilizing other supports already in place as students work to transition back to Downers Grove South High School.
Each plan is individualized for the needs of the student. For additional questions regarding this process, please contact Kristee Toth directly by clicking on this link.
