Cyndi Karmik
School Counselor
Cyndi Karmik began her career with District 99 in August of 2004 as a Guidance Counselor for Downers Grove North High School. In this role, she utilizes leadership, advocacy, and collaboration to promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs. She does this by implementing a comprehensive school counseling curriculum that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students.
Prior to joining the district, she served as a Spanish teacher at Osage City Middle & High School in Kansas from 1994 to 1998 and continued teaching Spanish at Burlington High School in Kansas from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2004 she worked at Huntley High School in Illinois as a School Counselor.
She attended the University of Iowa where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish/English/Education in 1994. She received a Master of Science for K-12 School Counseling from Emporia State University in 2000, and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in 2004.
