Downers Grove North High Administrators to Offer Wellness Series

New this school year, Downers Grove North High School is offering a series of evening meetings to address wellness topics. Led by Associate Principals Dr. Kelly Zuerner and Dr. Erin Ludwick,“Conversation Circles - Supporting Students Together,” is aimed to help families better understand the challenges teens face today and strategies for helping them.

“It’s no secret that technology usage has fundamentally changed childhood,” said Dr. Erin Ludwick, associate principal of student services at DGN. “We want to promote what having a healthy relationship with technology looks like, and need our families to be involved in the conversation to maximize the impact.”

The series will be held in the Alumni Room at DGN on the following four Wednesday evenings from 6-7 p.m.:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 18
  • Wednesday, Nov. 13
  • Wednesday, Feb. 12
  • Wednesday, April 23

In addition to digital wellness, other topics will include social wellness (harassment/bullying/peer conflict and healthy relationships/dating), as well as supporting students academically.

“We do a lot for students inside school to promote a healthy lifestyle, but see an opportunity to invite parents into the conversation,” said Dr. Kelly Zuerner. “Our students need us to surround them with our united support.”

While not a requirement to attend, families are asked to complete this form ahead of time for planning purposes.
