Matt Dillard, a current Downers Grove North teacher and the assistant coach for girls' basketball and softball, has been named the new head coach for girls’ golf, effective May 20, 2023. Dillard will replace Jackie McCormick, who retired from the position.
Dillard has taught at Downers Grove North for four years, leading engineering and computer-aided design classes. He has spent more than 11 years coaching athletics and has four years of head coaching experience through softball. Dillard has played golf for 25 years and holds a 10.1 handicap.
“I am honored to be the next head girls' golf coach at DGN,” said Dillard. “I am extremely passionate about the sport, excited to share that passion with the players, and excited to help the players realize their full potential.”
Stephan Bolt, a current Downers Grove North teacher, and a 2003 graduate, will assist Dillard.
“I am very passionate about coaching and helping our student-athletes be the best they can with quality instruction, feedback, hard work, and dedication...all while having fun and making some memories along the way,” said Bolt.
Dillard is a member of the Woodridge community and has two children that attend Downers Grove South High School. He received his bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan and holds an MBA from Mississippi State University and a master's in STEM education from the American College of Education.
