North High School students earned several awards in the Illinois Journalism Education Association (IJEA) Yearbook Contest for the 2020-2021 Cauldron Yearbook. The Cauldron, with the theme, “A Whole New World,” received third place in the overall excellence category in Division 5. Divisions are based upon school enrollment.
North High School students earned the following Individual category awards:
- Copy Writing: 3rd Place
- Sports Coverage: 2nd Place
- Best Use of Photography: Honorable Mention
- Graphics: 3rd Place
- Layout and Design: 2nd Place
- Theme Development: 2nd Place
“Despite a trying year with in-person and remote learning, our students persevered and created an outstanding publication,” says Dr. Kathy Smith, North High School English & Communications teacher and yearbook adviser. “I’m incredibly proud of their dedication; they are very much deserving of this recognition.”
