North High’s Class of 1979 donated $5,039 to North High School, specifically for benches to be placed around campus as part of the master facility renovation. On Wednesday, Jan. 8, class members visited North High and presented the check to Principal Janice Schwarze and Director of Activities Mark Mirandola.

More than 160 class members celebrated their 40-year reunion at North High’s Homecoming events this past October. Since then, 47 class members contributed to the 40th Reunion Class Gift.

“Our class has fond memories of our time at North High during the late 1970’s -- we wanted to commemorate our years and our success by giving something back,” Class of 1979 President Laurie Caputo said.

“We had strong support from classmates all across America," Class of 1979 Fundraising Chair Barbara Rendall Hochstadt said. "We are so excited about the final result and hope to inspire future classes to do something similar for their class reunions.”

“We are incredibly grateful for alumni who give back to their alma mater,” North High Principal Janice Schwarze said. “We enjoyed celebrating Homecoming with the Class of 1979 this past fall, and we thank them for their donation to North High.”
