Attention Seniors Students and Families,
We are excited to share that the DGN Government Club is hosting our annual Voter Registration Drive on Tuesday September 24th, 2019. The Government Club has partnered with the League of Women Voters to provide this opportunity to students during all lunch periods (4, 5, 6). Students who will be 18 years old on or before next year’s election day (November 3rd, 2020) may get registered and will be eligible to vote in both the primary and general elections. The following is a list of requirements that a student must meet in order to be officially registered:
Voter Registration Requirements:
- The student must be 18 on or before November 3rd, 2020.
- A student needs to bring two forms of identification. One form does need the student’s current address on it. A school ID and an Illinois Driver’s License/State ID work best.
- If a student does not have their current address on the license or state ID, a piece of mail with the student’s name and their current address can be acceptable.
- If a student is a naturalized citizen: the court, city, state and date of when naturalization occurred are needed. A valid passport can also be used.
We are proud to have registered hundreds of students over the years and our goal is to get all eligible seniors signed up. Don’t be left out in the upcoming elections, let your voice be heard! If you have any questions, please contact Government Club Sponsor Mr. Keith Lichtenberg in the Social Studies Department at klichtenberg@csd99.org.
Thank you,
Keith Lichtenberg
