North High School in Downers Grove has hired South High 2002 alum Joe Horeni as a physical education teacher; Horeni will also serve as the new DGN head football coach. On Monday, Feb. 26, North High senior and sports reporter Zain Bando made the official announcement and interviewed Horeni after approval from the Board of Education business meeting.
“We’re honored to welcome Joe to the Trojan family, especially being an esteemed alum of District 99,” said North High Athletic Direct Denise Kavanaugh. “Joe’s high school coaching experience and enthusiasm are exactly what students need, both in class and on the field.”
