Three students from Downers Grove North High School were semi-finalists at the 2016 NSDA National Speech & Debate Tournament held June 12-17, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dan Brophy, a 2016 DGN graduate, was a semi-finalist in United States Extemporaneous Speaking, a main event of the tournament. He’s the first Downers Grove North High semi-finalist in this category since Alex Buckley in 2013.
Molly Forouhi was a semi-finalist in Extemporaneous Commentary, a supplementary event. This was her third year competing in Nationals.
Charlie Stark was a semi-finalist in Extemporaneous Commentary, and also placed in the top 24 for Expository Speaking.
