English Department Core Values
The North High English Department believes in the following core values. When deciding on what texts to teach and creating our units, lessons, and assessments, these values drive the conversations. We believe in:

We believe that students should engage with and create texts that represent the wide range of perspectives and diversity present in our world today.
- Complexity/Challenging/Critical Thinking
We believe that the study and creation of texts provide opportunities for students to be intellectually engaged and challenged to communicate critically.

We believe that students should develop a lifelong appreciation of reading and communicating that continues beyond their time here at North.
